DROMEC develops rotatable pull-in system
for Asso.subsea
Asso.subsea, based in Greece, is a global expert in offshore subsea installation projects. To assist with pulling export cables from the vessel to the substation of a wind farm, DROMEC was approached to collaborate on the development of a highly powerful and rotatable pull-in system. This innovative tool complements the series of pull-in systems that DROMEC has previously designed for offshore wind farms
Robust and Rotatable
In this pull-in operation, export cables are pulled from the vessel through the seabed into the offshore substation. The pull-in system designed by DROMEC for Asso.subsea delivers a nominal pulling force of 25 tons. The system features a robust cable storage capacity of 350 meters for a 38mm fiber rope. Additionally, the pull-in system was made rotatable by incorporating a swivel pin at the base of the frame, combined with a turntable. This specific feature allows the client to use the system multifunctionally.
Rens, Engineer:
“The electric pull-in system is specifically designed for this type of operation. For Asso.subsea, we developed a highly powerful system for the first time. It is a user-friendly and safe tool that can be installed on any platform. Moreover, the advanced control software, combined with remote service capabilities, provides significant time savings for the client.”
Advanced Control
The control system of the pull-in system is fully integrated into the machine’s electrical cabinet. Operators can control the cables remotely using a user-friendly belly box with a remote control, equipped with a touchscreen and joystick.
