Rotating bollard to MS Sympharosa

At the Home Terminal Haven Genk in Belgium, the m/s Sympharosa is moored, equipped with a brand-new electric rotating bollard with control, supplied by DROMEC Winches.
Captain Anco Haaima is satisfied:
“The bollard is worth its weight in gold. We would have loved to place one on every corner.”
Rotating Bollard
With the rotating bollard EPK-5000, the ship has gained an extra deckhand on board. It is a tool that combines power and precision. With the capacity to pull up to 5,000 kg on the first cable layer, the EPK-5000 is always ready for action. As the ship approaches the quay, the electric motor in the bollard begins to rotate. With a cable speed of 6.2 meters per minute, it moves steadily, ensuring perfectly controlled motion. The rope wraps smoothly around the head, allowing docking and undocking to proceed securely yet effortlessly. The captain knows he can rely on the 15,000 kg holding force, even in extreme weather conditions.
Electric Control
Behind the scenes, the electric control system of the rotating bollard makes all the difference. With an intuitive interface, the captain can operate the device effortlessly. Whether it’s a simple relay control or an advanced frequency control, everything works in perfect harmony from the electrical control cabinet, in combination with, for example, a dual foot pedal, enabling a single person to dock the ship safely.
High-Quality Materials
Thanks to its high-quality finish, with a double coating layer in RAL9005 on a zinc-phosphate primer, the bollard is resistant to corrosion and wear. Even at temperatures ranging from -10°C to +40°C, the device continues to function flawlessly.
Installation
The rotating bollard was installed at Tinnemans Floating Solutions’ shipyard in Maasbracht. DROMEC has had a great partnership with this shipyard in the south for many years!
